The timber frame has now been erected so the scale of the house and the fantastically proportioned rooms can now all be seen, including the beautiful oak barn room and entrance area.
Work is now progressing on adding felt and battens to the roof structure so first fix can commence. Windows are also being fitted to the main house elevations.
Ground work started with excavating footings before pouring concrete and then moving onto installing the brick courses to DPC level followed by the concrete slab. Drainage channels have also been dug for foul and rain water.
Demolition of the existing 1950s house is now complete and the site has been opened up through the approved removal of a number of trees which means the full extent of the one acre site can now be seen.
Final fit out is underway including bathrooms, kitchen and utility.
Meanwhile external works include driveways and paths being laid now the scaffold has been fully removed. The ground sourced heat pump is commissioned and the house is nearly ready for occupation.
Roofing is now complete so external works focus on cladding and render.
Meanwhile internally, second fix is well underway including fitting of the handmade oak staircase and tiling is in full flow.
External and internal works continue apace with roofing, plaster, decoration and basement fit out all taking place.
